A Bradenton couple wanted to transform their home on the Manatee River, and found their inspiration in Tuscan building traditions. Two terraces with cast stone balustrades and columns accented by raised stucco profiling were added to the back of the house. A vaulted roof was attached next to the exterior wall of the living room, designed to accentuate the lines of the existing arched window. This new roof provides better protection from weather, and it creates an elegant transition between the interior and exterior of the home. Interior work included a kitchen reconfiguration, honed and filled travertine floors and individually designed cast stone fireplace surround.
